An idiot with no "intellectual curiosity"? Yeah, sure….

This in an email from the Fair Tax organiztion.

In Niceville, Florida in early August, one of our enthusiastic volunteers (Nate Moore) asked President Bush, “What about HR 25?” Now this was a telling question, because Nate did not say FairTax or national retail sales tax. He called out our bill number; just one of hundreds of bill numbers in Congress mill today. The President not only recognized the number, explained the core of the legislation, and noted that his host, Rep. Jeff Miller, was a co-sponsor, but he immediately responded in an affirmative manner. According to the Seattle Times ~Bush replied favorably: I’m not exactly sure how big the national sales tax is going to have to be, but it’s the kind of interesting idea that we ought to explore seriously.'”

Yeah, I’m sure John Kerry could have responded off the cuff to a question about “HR 25”. Maybe, since it’s not a Senate bill; he probably spends as much time reading House bills as he does in the Senate. All this sitting quietly and listening without comment that John Snow thought indicated a lack of depth looks to me like it indicated someone who was listening and remembering.
