Democratic Senators Violate Separation of Powers

Durbin, Reid, Stabenow and Schumer summoned up their ignorance of the American Constitution and violated the separation of powers today, asking the President to pledge not to use a Constitutional prerogative granted solely to the executive branch. Additionally they showed their ignorance of American law with the statement,

“A pardon in these circumstances would signal that this White House considers itself above the law.”

A pardon granted under the President’s normal legal powers isn’t “above the law,” but is, by definition, within the law. Four legislators presuming to impede the exercise of a President’s Constitutional powers very definitely is “above the law.”
