Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro took the prodding from 46 of the 62 county GOP chairmen in New York State and announced her candidacy for the Senate seat currently held by Hillary Clinton.

Thoughts. First, does this mean Giuliani won’t be challenging her? If so, that’s too bad. While I’m not big on the idea of President Giuliani, I think he’d make an excellent Senator for the State of New York. Second, suppose Hillary loses her Senate seat in 2006. What does that do to her aspirations for 2008?
