Kerry Says He Would Add 40,000 To Army (washingtonpost.com)
“The Democratic presidential candidate said that, to cover part of the cost of his proposals, he would cut back current funding levels for a national missile defense system, which he characterized as “the wrong priority” at a time when the nature of the threats has changed.”
Two days ago this guy is saying that there is a huge threat from nuclear weapons. How exactly are 40,000 troops better than a national missile defense for stopping nuclear missiles? Incoming missile. Quick call out the Kerry brigade and let them sing peace songs. Yeah, 40,000 soldiers who think using a .50 caliber machine gun or a search and destroy mission is an “atrocity” can sing the incoming missile to death. This guy just has an incredibly low opinion of the intelligence of the American people if he thinks that we can’t see him talking out of both sides of his mouth. Of course, it’s very helpful that his fellow travelers in the media won’t call him on it.
Another John Kerry waffle. Nuclear weapons are the biggest threat out there; missile defense is a misplaced priority.
