All the liberals dreaming of moving to our neighbor to the north to escape the vile Bush administration’s attempts to ‘privatize’ Socialist Security might want to rethink.
The Canadian Pension Plan [CPP] has a reserve fund that is invested in the market, not in special gubmnt securities, as is the U.S. Social Security fund. Last year, this reserve fund earned a return of more than 5%.
Now, if the Canadians are already doing it then it must be right. Right? The only surer sign that we should have personal accounts would be if the French or Germans had them.
