Oldest piece of Earth?

The oldest known piece of Earth, found in Australia in 2001, was on display Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Madison,

I’m not sure what “oldest known piece of Earth means”. My understanding is that matter is neither created nor destroyed, so all the pieces of Earth are equally old. Are they saying that they have the first piece that all the others coalesced around? I find that unlikely, as I’d expect that to be somewhere near the core. My guess is this silliness is just intended to draw people into a museum that’s strapped for cash.
