The real nuclear option

The Democrats really ought to get off their high horse about George Bush seizing power and blah, blah, blah. You want a real nuclear option? You want to really undercut the separation of powers?

The Constitution says:

…he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law…

If the Senate fails to vote, the Senate is silent.

Qui tacet consentit

There’s your real nuclear option, you bunch of sore losers.
