Was he really
July 30 rally for President Bush in Springfield, MO. There was a lady protesting with a sign informing us that “Jesus was the first nonviolent peace activist.”
This woman is an idiot:
Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
“And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to
Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and
sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when
he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out
of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out
the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto
them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my
Father’s house an house of merchandise.”
John 2:13-16, KJV
“A scourge of small cords…” He was turning over their tables, destroying their property and whipping them until they left the temple.
And you don’t have to be Christian to believe that Jesus wasn’t a nonviolent peace activist. The heathen Romans thought he was a revolutionary as did their friends the Jewish Sadducees. They were convinced enough to crucify him.
The “religion of peace” agrees that Jesus was not a peacenik. In 1995, a banner was hung in the Bethlehem town center reading: “Greetings to the birthplace of the Jesus, the first Palestinian revolutionary” (a quote often attributed to Yasser Arafat).
Side note: Notice that there are about 5 protesters braving the early morning drizzle and cold. Compare that to several thousand supporters. I’m in Missouri, I don’t expect you to take my word for it: Photos here.
