Welcome to my website. I am a Ph.D. candidate in international relations and comparative politics in the Department of Political Science at the University of Houston. My research interests are authoritarian politics, leadership ideology, game theory, and international politic economy.
I’m working on the application of machine learning and Natural Language Processing to solving issues of non-transparency in measuring the leadership politics of dictatorship and the behavior of authoritarian leaders.
This website predates my graduates studies, so it includes sections devoted to personal interests. The blog section is primarily from my earlier blog at this site, Tom Rants, though I will be adding some academically oriented blog posts in the future.
