Marginal Revolution explores a survey on the reasons people gave for attending protests during the 2004 Republican National Convention. Not surprisingly, the attitudes were far more anti-Bush than pro-Kerry, but what is surprising or at least amusing is that wanting to pick up chicks seems to also have been more important than supporting the Democratic ticket:
But on the other hand, pro-Kerry was less popular than “personal reasons,� the category we created for reasons involving meeting friends and members of the opposite sex.
